Location: Kathmandu, Nepal Time of commissioning: December 2023
Grid Resiliency through Intelligent Photovoltaics and Storage (GRIPS) is an Innovate UK-funded project aimed at improving access to clean, reliable energy in Nepal. By enhancing electricity supply reliability and increasing renewable energy integration, GRIPS seeks to mitigate pollution and stimulate economic growth. HiT Power has contributed an advanced inverter and static switch, forming a microgrid capable of seamlessly disconnecting from the main grid during faults and reconnecting once the issues are resolved. This setup ensures continuous power supply to critical local loads connected to the microgrid side of the switch, regardless of grid conditions.
Since its deployment in December 2023, our microgrid has effectively provided uninterrupted power to a block of 20 residential apartments, showcasing the effectiveness of our innovative inverter and switch technology.
